I just went there and a friendly mechanic of Charles said it was a minor problem and showed me how to fix it. I am definitely impressed for their honesty and friendliness. They earned at least one new future customer. I recommend them!

Been there two or three times. They are a bit on expensive side, but I can't complain about the service so far. The location is also pretty convenient for me.

Honest, great service, reasonable prices. They've kept my 14 year old Maxima with 200k+ miles running far longer than it should, and without expensive repairs.

my first visit -- very clean and orderly shop, technicians were knowledgeable and highly professional. i found a part available from the manufacturer on line at a lower price than quoted and they met the lower price, no questions asked. I think these folks are honest and competent -- not easy to find these days.

It is the cleanest shop I've ver seen! The folks were friendly and professional. They took my car at the appointed time and were finished as promised. However, I bought 2 coupons. They were unable to work on my truck because it is too heavy for their lifts. I wish I had known that before I purchased one for my truck. That was $20 down the drain.

I have been going to Charles Automotive for 15+ years. The service is dependable, very honest and if you have a problem they are always willing to help. Although I used to live in Rockville & now am in Bethesda I still take my 13 year old Toyota Rav4 for maintenance & repairs......you can't get any better than this!

I only went there once, on the recommendation of a friend. My old beater had a dying transmission. I took it to them, and they laid out all the repair options, all of which were super expensive. Then, instead of goading me to accept one, they surprisingly told me they refused to fix the car! They said there was not enough value left to warrant the cost of repairs. This is very unique among car repair shops to not offer unnecessary services. (I'm sure they would have repaired it if I really pushed.) Aside from that, they were friendly, helpful, and profession. I will gladly go there again when my new car has troubles.

I read up reviews for Charles Automotive online and decided to get an oil change done for my SUV from them. They are a bit hard to find, tucked behind the front row of buildings so that can be a pain for first timers. The location appeared clean and organized and signing in and dropping off my car was a quick process. I had previously made an appointment for oil change while you wait. They have a small waiting room with TV and coffee and snacks to munch on. I went around the block to grab lunch in the meantime. My car was ready within the hour as promised and I even received a phone call to let me know that my car was ready for pickup. Work done looks good (been driving for a week now) and price was comparable to others in the area too. I will bring my other car to this place too :)

They are great service. I haven't had any major repairs done. But they keep my car running well and also told me about recalls that I should have checked out at the dealership!
